In addition to the captivating experience of the workshop, all tickets include:

  • Painting Materials: All painting materials are included. Immerse yourself in the craft & process with high-quality materials provided, including canvas, easel, brushes, and paint.

    • You will only need to bring your own drawing materials​. 

  • Meals: Indulge in the culinary delights prepared by the castle staff, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (Please note that meals are not provided during the 2 Florence day trips as we will be dining at local restaurants).​

    • Wine is included with Lunch and Dinner. 

    • Additional groceries can be purchased for you and delivered to the castle at your expense.

  • Painting Lessons, Demonstrations, & Live Model Sessions: Immerse yourself in daily lessons conducted by our esteemed instructors, where you will refine your skills and explore new horizons. Engage in captivating live model painting & drawing sessions, capturing their essence and honing your observational abilities.

  • Personalized 1-on-1 Guidance: Benefit from personalized and hands-on assistance from instructors, who will provide individualized guidance to help you overcome challenges and refine your craft.

  • Day Trips to Florence: Immerse yourself in the wonders of Florence with two captivating day trips. Walk the charming streets, visit renowned cultural landmarks, and marvel at the masterpieces housed in the city's prestigious museums. 

    • Museum Tickets and Transport Included​

  • Wine Tasting: Embark on a delightful wine tasting adventure, savoring the flavors of exquisite local wines and immersing yourself in the rich viticultural heritage of the region.​​

  • Shuttles: There will be a scheduled shuttle on to take participants from Florence to the castle, and a scheduled shuttle to take participants from the castle back to Florence. 

    • Shuttles are included​ for the day trips and wine tasting. 

    • Notice: It is ultimately your responsibility to be on time at the meeting points for scheduled shuttles and to ensure your travel plans align with the schedule.

Room Options

Nestled within the expansive castle property, a collection of exquisite villas awaits, each boasting its own distinctive charm, bedrooms, bathrooms, and inviting living spaces. The villa that you live in will depend on the ticket that you choose. 

 

Included with your room: sheets and towels (changed weekly), free wi-fi, gas, electricity and water, normal heating, wood for fireplaces, crockery and cooking equipment, final cleaning. 

In addition to the shared common areas within your villa, all rooms include the shared common areas of the castle: swimming pool, barbecue area, country tennis, laundry area, ping pong and foosball (table soccer), reading room, piano room, and television room. 

While we strive to accommodate specific villa requests, kindly note that the final allocation will be based on a fair and necessary basis, considering factors such as availability and order of reservation. Rest assured, we will do our best to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Private Castle Villa - San Martino (SOLD OUT)

San Martino is a small 2-story tower over the main gate to the castle courtyard; it takes its name from the large fresco depicting Saint Martin sharing his cloak with a beggar. It is accessed from the upper courtyard. San Martino’s outdoor area has a stone table and wrought iron chairs under the shade of a majestic linden tree.

 

Downstairs there is a cozy sitting room with beamed ceiling, fireplace and parquet floor; a mini-kitchenette in the back includes two burners, a sink and a small refrigerator. Upstairs is a bedroom with high beamed ceiling, parquet floor and queen-size bed, as well as a bathroom.

Private Villa With Garden - La Scuola (SOLD OUT)

A Private Cottage Villa With A Queen Bed, Bathroom, Sitting Area, Kitchen Area, & Small Private Garden. Both the bedroom and the living room have beamed ceilings and terracotta tile floors. There are no stairs throughout. 

Private Villa With Garden - La Voliera

Casa di Giocche

Casa di Giocche is a 2-bedroom house situated near the original entrance tower. Access to the house is by a flight of grapevine-adorned stone steps. 

The living room with beamed ceilings and rustic terracotta brick floor has a dining table for four people and a fireplace. Both bedrooms have windows on two sides and are full of light.

Casa di Giocche has a private shady grass garden and has lovely views of the valley and the hills beyond it.

San Giovanni East

San Giovanni East is on the lower floor of the San Giovanni building, a large stone house within the castle walls. It has a combined living room/kitchen, with dining area and full size stove and refrigerator.

 

Of the two bedrooms, one has a beautiful view of the valley below, the other a view of the sunrise. 

Each bedroom has a bathroom en-suite; one bathroom has a shower stall and one has a tub with wall shower.

San Giovanni East is part of the San Giovanni building, which also includes San Giovanni West and La Loggia. The outside entrance is shared with La Loggia.

San Giovanni West

San Giovanni West is on the lower floor of the San Giovanni building, an old stone house within the castle walls. It has a combined living-dining room with kitchen area and full size stove and refrigerator.

There are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom en suite. 

San Giovanni West is part of the San Giovanni building, which also includes San Giovanni Eat and La Loggia. 

La Loggia

La Loggia is a large 4-bedroom apartment that occupies the entire top floor of an old stone building within the castle walls. Access is by a flight of stairs. The 4 bedrooms are in the four corners of the apartment so they all have windows on two sides. Each bedroom has a private bathroom. 

 

The large living/dining room has a corner fireplace, a dining table that can seat up to 12 people, and glass doors give access to a covered terrace that offers outdoor seating for 8, with sweeping views of the valley and the wooded hills.

La Loggia is part of the San Giovanni building, which also includes San Giovanni West and San Giovanni East.

 

Casa del Guardia

Casa del Guardia was the game-keeper’s house; with its large common areas, including a living room, an eat-in kitchen, a front patio and a rear terrace.

From the living room, two steps down give access to a spacious combination kitchen-dining room, full of light, with high beamed ceilings, windows on two sides, and large fireplace.

One bedroom has a bathroom en suite and the other two bedrooms share a second bathroom. Both bathrooms have shower over tub. 

At the front of the house is a vine-shaded patio with table and chairs for outdoor dining; at the rear, accessed through the master bedroom, is a panoramic terrace overlooking the valley with a spectacular view of the sunset.

La Fattoria

La Fattoria is a second-floor apartment accessed directly from the castle courtyard, just inside the castle gate. It used to be the home of the farm manager’s family.

The main apartment has a combination living/dining room with kitchen area and fireplace. It has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed  and windows on two sides, the other with twin single beds and an antique washstand.

 

There is one bathroom with shower over bathtub and a washing machine.

The optional Annex has another double bedroom (queen bed separable into twin singles), a small bathroom, and a sitting room. La Fattoria’s private enclosed lawn with garden furniture is just outside the castle gate.

Torre del Vescovo

Torre del Vescovo is a two-story wing of the main castle building, including the original watchtower, and provides a complete medieval castle experience. The living room has a high beamed ceiling and is adorned with frescoes; it has a dining area, a very large fireplace, an old piano and a television. There is a separate full kitchen with espresso machine, dishwasher and clothes washer. One of the rooms has access to the ladder that leads up the tower!

From the living room a short flight of stone steps leads to an enclosed private garden, with a stone table and a wisteria-covered gazebo.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy:

  1. Full Refund (within 30 days of booking - Applicable until February 10th 2025): Participants who request a cancellation of their registration within 30 days from the date of their booking, as long as the date is prior to February 10th 2025, will be eligible for a full refund of the workshop fee.

  2. Partial Refund (after 30 days of booking and until March 10th 2025): Participants who request a cancellation of their registration after the initial 30-day period, but before March 10th 2025, will be eligible for a 70% refund of the workshop fee.

  3. No Refund (after March 10th 2025): Participants who request a cancellation of their registration after March 10th 2025 will not be eligible for a refund. The workshop fee is non-refundable after March 10th 2025.

Please note the following:

  • The organizers strongly recommend that participants purchase travel insurance to protect themselves against unforeseen circumstances, such as travel disruptions, illness, or other events that may prevent attendance. Travel insurance can provide coverage for potential financial losses in such situations.

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the organizers. Please contact info@nicthurman.com to submit a refund request. 

  • The refund amount will be based on the workshop fee paid at the time of registration and will exclude any transaction or processing fees incurred.

  • Any applicable refunds will be processed within a reasonable time frame after receiving the cancellation request.

  • The organizers reserve the right to make exceptions to the refund policy on a case-by-case basis, considering unforeseen circumstances or extenuating situations.
